It is our mission at Gem City Plumbers to deliver quality products to our customers at the best prices possible. To deliver on that promise, Performance Water Systems custom build our own water softener units utilizing quality, industry leading components. Performance Water softening systems are designed to efficiently and effectively condition the water supplied to our homes here in our community, not a generic unit built to be sold all through out the USA. Our systems feature digital Clack Water Specialist control heads and premium grade 10% crosslinked softening resins, all manufactured in the United States and built locally right here in Ohio. By purchasing wholesale and building systems ourselves, we are able to offer our customers the same, high quality unit offered by our big name competitors at a lower price.
We are blessed in the Dayton region to have a plentiful supply of drinking water. One of the problems faced with that supply is high levels of calcium and magnesium making our drinking water have a very high hardness. Fortunately, this is a problem easily remedied by installing a water softening system in your home.
Benefits of water softening include:
While some cities do remove a certain amount of hardness from their water at the treatment plant, the level of hardness is not yet low enough to be classified as "soft" water. Below are some examples of hardness levels from local water systems.
9 Grains/Gal (157mg/L) - City of Dayton / Montgomery County
27 Grains/Gal (461mg/L) - Greene County
23 Grains/Gal (393mg/L) - City of Xenia
23 Grains/Gal (393mg/L) - City of Jamestown
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a water filtration process that removes contaminants such as heavy metals, PFA's (forever Chemicals), chlorine, salt, dissolved solids and many other microscopic materials. The filtration process occurs through pressure gradients that force the water through a semipermeable membrane that thus removes virtually all contaminants. The water is then stored in a small holding tank for use. The RO system can produce up to 50 gallons a day of clean & refreshing water.
